Steph and Eric met in September of 2016 in London. Eric had recently started working at a boutique consultancy and the company was hosting an all-hands and training at its HQ in London. Steph was living and working in London at the time – his home since childhood.

It was a Friday night and Eric had learned earlier that week that his friend Ryan was also coincidentally in London. Ryan knew of a party that night, and never one to turn down a fun time, Eric met Ryan at a popular nightclub in Shoreditch. Eric distinctly remembers seeing Steph from across the room dancing with a group of girlfriends and thinking how handsome he was, but was dissuaded from approaching by Steph's female entourage. But lo and behold, Steph was suddenly without his accompaniments and Eric made a move – butterflies turned into kisses and before we knew it, what was supposed to be a five day work trip for a new job was extended to a two week "work from company HQ" trip ... but the real reason was Eric had fallen hard for Steph and concocted a scheme to spend more time with him.

A weekend trip to Brighton and nighttime walks through London planted a seed that blossomed into a long-distance love story.

From a surprise Thanksgiving in North Carolina, to extended work-stays in London, romantic trips to NY, Berlin through Covid, skiing in the Alps, summers across Europe, and a trip to Southeast Asia where Eric popped the question, Steph and Eric found creative ways to be together and thrive in spite of the distance.

Through it all were you, our friends and family, now intermingled—no longer 'Steph’s' or 'Eric’s,' but ours—supporting us through this ten-year journey and beyond.
